Im Rooting For Mighty Vince Young

The Tennessee Stud was long and lean.  The color of the sun and his eyes were green.  He had the nerve and he had the blood.  There never was a horse like Tennessee Stud.  -Johnny Cash

Public Service Announcement:  OK, here we go!  Let’s get this straight.  Straight from the heart.  Give it to me straight from the heart.  Tell me we can make another start.  You know I’ll never go, as long as I know.  It’s comin’ straight from the heart.  This is straight from the heart:  I love me some Mighty Vince Young.

Yes sports fans, I love Mighty Vince Young.  I’ve loved him since his days as a Longhorn.  As a Longhorn when he led Texas to an 11-0 regular season record.  That’s when I saw it.  Ooooooh I saw it.  I saw the Rose Bowl.  I saw the Rose Bowl and I believed.  I believed Ronnie Lott.  Lott: ”Vince Young is the greatest quarterback to ever play college football.”  You hear that Tim Tebow?  What he did that one night in Pasadena was one of the most remarkable performances I had ever witnessed.  One of the most dominating performances I had ever witnessed.  One of the most electrifying performances I had ever witnessed.  I knew then and there, this kid was a winner.  Like my main man Dale Earnhardt always said:  “The winner ain’t the one with the fastest car, it’s the one who refuses to lose.”  Vince Young refuses to lose.  I refuse to lose.  Here’s your ticket.  Hear the drummer get wicked.

Vince Young gets wicked.  You saw him his rookie year.  You saw him come back in four games.  Three straight.  Don’t call it a comeback!  You saw him win the largest fourth-quarter comeback in Titans franchise history.  You saw him win the largest fourth-quarter comeback by a rookie quarterback in NFL history.  You saw him win the largest comeback with under ten minutes ever.  You saw him become first rookie quarterback in NFL history to win two 14+ point comebacks in the same season.  You saw, and you knew too.  You knew this kid was something special.  Something special indeed.  Special, so special.  I gotta have some of your attention.  Give it to me.

Give it to Mighty Vince Young.  Give it to Mighty Vince Young, who in his second year, led these Tennessee Titans to the Promised Land.  Led them to the Promised Land for the first time since 2003.  To the Promised Land for the first time after just missing in Young’s rookie season.  Mister I ain’t a boy, no I’m a man.  And I believe in a promised land.

That is why I’m so happy today.  I’m happy to see Vince Young behind center once again.  Vince Young now is 19-11 as an NFL starting quarterback.  That’s a lot better than a lot of other quarterbacks.  Now Vince gets the chance to prove his worth and to prove he is the long-term answer for Tennessee.  I think he is.  Charles Allen always once said, ”When you say a situation or a person is hopeless, you’re slamming the door in the face of God.  “I would never do that.  Would you?
